  1. FAQ:
Anyone can enter. You do not need to be a member of SMRW, RWA, or any other writers organization to enter.
You do not need to live in the US to enter.
If the entry has erotic elements, please state this on the entry form so we can make sure it gets to the appropriate judge.
The manuscript does not need to be complete to enter the Laurie.
The completed manuscript can be any word length.
If you’re published in short story or novella length (under 35,000), you are eligible to enter the Laurie.
If the first chapter is longer than 17 pages, it is better to stop at an interesting hook and be a page or two short than to stop in the middle of a sentence at the end of page 17.
If the first chapter is shorter than 17 pages, you are not allowed to add part of the second chapter.
If you have a prologue, our advice is to cut it. Do an internet search of “prologue, editors” and you will find the majority of editors do not like them. However, if you’re convinced it should remain, it does count toward the 17 page maximum.
The paranormal category includes: fantasy, futuristic, urban fantasy, time travel, shape-shifters, etc.

  2. Thank you for early entry extension. Still have question. How does one acquire the entry form.
I’ve tried clicking on numerous web page elements and nothing happens.
